Katarakt ameliyatı, gözünüzün merceğini çıkarmak ve çoğu durumda onu yapay bir mercekle değiştirmek için bir prosedürdür. Normalde, gözünüzün merceği açıktır. Prosedürün en önemli kısımlarından biri gözlerinizin derinlemesine sağlık kontrolünü içerir. Burada sizin için kapsamlı bir göz muayenesi yapacağız. Bu, gözünüzün boyutunu ve şeklini ölçmek için ağrısız bir testtir. Bu şekilde, sizin için en iyi yapay lensi (göz içi lensi veya GİL) seçebiliriz. Pre-Op Instructions

Do not wear facial makeup.

Wear comfortable and warm clothes.

Make sure not to eat anything after midnight on the night before your surgery or in the morning of your cataract surgery.

Only medications for heart, blood pressure or seizures can be taken the morning of surgery with a sip of water.

Do not wear contact lenses. If you wear eye glasses, you may bring them with you.

Please shower and bathe before your surgery. Wear loose, comfortable clothing, preferably a short sleeve shirt with buttons in the front. No undershirts please. Do not wear make-up. You may brush your teeth but do not swallow.

Leave all jewelry, purse and other valuables (cell phones, laptops etc.) at home. Remove all piercings.

If applicable, please wear your hearing aids and/or dentures u After cataract surgery, expect your vision to begin improving within a few days. Your vision may be blurry at first as your eyes heal and adjust after the treatment.nless directed otherwise.

Post-Op Instructions

Do not rub your eye.

You may feel like there is something in your eye. There isn’t, but you can feel the incision until it smooths itself out. You’ll have some discharge out of your eye. It is OK to gently tease that away with a washcloth.

You should resume your regular diet and all medications after surgery.

Normal daily activity is fine, such as walking or light reading. Nothing strenuous or jarring for one week, such as lifting heavy weights, bending all the way over, golfing, jogging, or tennis for at least the first 3 or 4 days.

You may take showers or baths after the first day, but take care not to get water or shampoo in the operated eye.

Wear glasses or shield during the day and your shield at night for one week after surgery. This can be your old glasses or sunglasses.

Hold your glasses with your thumbs covering the tips of the temple when you put them on to avoid poking your eye. Dark glasses will probably be more comfortable.

Mild pain is expected and this can be relieved with two Tylenol. Avoid aspirin products. The patch may be loosened if aching persists.

Do not drive a car while the eye is patched.

Air travel is okay after the first day.

Avoid activities that require full concentration for 24 hours after your operation.

Walk cautiously, especially while wearing a patch or shield.

You may notice a difference in the way you see colors. This is to be expected. Your cataract altered the colors. Now that it is gone, the correct colors are coming through

You’ll have some unusual visual sensations. You may see “shimmering,” streaks, flashes of lights, or other unusual things. Don’t let this alarm you. This is normal for the first week.

Don’t swim. It’s best to avoid swimming or hot tubs for a week after surgery.

Stay away from dusty areas.
